-The versatile KHE 55 combination hammer allows users to
quickly and easily move between hammer drilling and chiseling operations
without switching tools. The KHE 55 offers high rotational torque
of 531 inch-lbs. and variable impact energy from 1.0 to
9.0 joules per blow. Its optimum drilling range is from
1/2 to 1 1/2 with a maximum capacity in concrete
of 1 9/16 using solid bits, and 4 using core
bits. The 9.6 amp motor has a no-load speed of
135 rpm to 275 rpm, and 1,300 bpm to 2,600
bpm. Metabos Vario-Tacho-Constamatic (VTC) electronic speed control enables the tool
to maintain a virtually constant speed between no-load and load
for maximum drilling speed. To increase its service life, the
KHE 55 features a tough magnesium die-cast gear housing, auto-stop
carbon brushes, a spring-loaded lip seal to prevent dust penetration,
a winding protection grid, and a durable pneumatic high-performance hammer
mechanism. The KHE 55 is designed for comfort and safety.
Vibration reduction construction and rubber insulated handles reduce user fatigue
and discomfort, while Metabos S-automatic safety clutch and extra long
front handle protect against kick-back. Ergonomic, rounded-off areas on the
handle and motor casing allow users to find a comfortable
working position. The large rear handle enables two-handed operation in
harder applications, and the gear switch is extra large for
easy operation, even when the user is wearing gloves. The
KHE 55 is available with Metabos new CODE! anti-theft system.
Owners can enable and disable multiple CODE!-protected rotary hammers using
a single key or assign each tool either its own
key for single user or multiple keys for multiple authorized
users. In the event of a lost key, only the
key needs to be replaced, not the tool.
